Brian Peebles, Licensed Private Investigator
I’m Brian Peebles, founder of Vantage Point Investigations and a licensed professional investigator since 2022.
My investigative career began in 2010 with the Department of Homeland Security, where I gained extensive experience in immigration enforcement, undercover operations, interviews, fugitive apprehension, and surveillance. After serving in federal law enforcement, I worked internationally with the International Justice Mission in Bucharest, Romania, helping combat human trafficking alongside law enforcement and victim support organizations.
Today, I focus on criminal defense investigations across southeast Michigan, bringing integrity, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of truth to every case. As a board-certified criminal defense investigator and certified forensic interviewer, I’m dedicated to uncovering facts that make a difference—through active listening, creative problem-solving, and ethical, client-centered work.

About Brian
My name is Brian Peebles. I founded Vantage Point Investigations and obtained my professional investigator license in August 2022.
My investigative career began in 2010. From 2010 to 2021, I worked as a federal law enforcement officer with the Department of Homeland Security. Although it was not a long career, I was blessed to have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of assignments. My experience included immigration enforcement, undercover narcotics, conducting interviews, fugitive apprehension, and surveillance. I chose to separate from law enforcement in 2021. I worked as an investigator in Bucharest, Romania for an international non-profit combatting human-trafficking, International Justice Mission. My experience in that role included working closely with victim support professionals, victims, Romanian authorities, UK authorities and multiple non-profit organizations.
Since obtaining my PI license, I have handled cases for attorneys and private citizens. While I love the variety of cases that I have worked, I have developed a passion and specialty in criminal defense. I have investigated hundreds of indigent cases in several counties across southeast Michigan, including St. Clair, Macomb, Oakland, Lapeer, Tuscola, and Sanilac.
I am constantly learning and perfecting my investigative skills. I am a board-certified criminal defense investigator and certified forensic interviewer. I enjoy locating witnesses, building rapport and conducting interviews in a constant search for truth. People often find themselves wondering why they have shared so much personal information with me. I have a natural talent to actively listen and ask the right questions at the right time.
I strive to uphold the highest ethics and approach my work with compassion and integrity. Creative problem solving is a trademark of how I approach investigations. I put myself in the most advantageous position to get the answers that are needed for my client. I am also passionate about networking and utilizing the partners that I have across the industry through membership in various state and national associations. I am also a member of the Blue Water Chamber of Commerce.
On a personal note, my wife and I have been married since 2006 and we have one daughter and one son. I’m thankful for the season of life that I am in and the path that has led me here.
